5 Advantages Of Using Zinc Nickel Plating For Your Parts

Clarence Gray

If you are creating parts that will be used inside of some sort of machine, you want to ensure that the parts you are creating will withstand exposure to various conditions and be able to last. One way to increase the longevity of your parts is by adding a coating over the top of the parts. One type of coating that you can add to your products is zinc-nickel plating or coating.

#1: Even Application

When applying a coating on top of an existing part, you want to ensure that the coating is evenly applied across the entire region. You want an even coat so that it wears evenly over time and so that all parts of your product have the same level of protection.

This can easily be achieved with zinc-nickel plating, as state-of-the-art equipment is used to apply the coating, ensuring that all components are evenly covered with the coating, even if there are bends and twists to the part.

#2: Corrosion-Resistant

If the parts you are creating will be exposed to water, salt, or moisture in any form, you will want to ensure that they are corrosion-resistant. Corrosion can significantly reduce the life of a product.

The nickel that is incorporated into the coating is added at a percentage that ensures corrosion protection. So, you do not have to worry about your product getting rust on it over time; it will just be protected against it from the start.

#3: Temperature Protection

Third, if your product will be exposed to extremely hot and cold temperatures, you need to ensure that it can withstand those temperatures. With a zinc-nickel coating, your product will have additional protection against extreme temperatures. It will be protected against thermal shock, which will help extend the life of your product.

#4: Blister-Free

Fourth, if other chemicals or elements are deposited onto the product, the coating will not develop blisters. Exposure to other elements will not decrease the strength and protection the coating offers for your product.

#5: Bendable

Finally, if you need to bend or manipulate the part or product after applying the coating, it will not leave any whiskers in the coating. The coating will stay strong and solid, even if the part is bent and manipulated.

If you have a part or product that needs to be coated, you should seriously consider using zinc-nickel plating because it will provide you with all the protection your product needs for long usable life.

Finding Better Manufacturing Equipment

After I started working in a factory for my grandfather, I realized that some of the equipment needed to be updated in a bad way. It was really old, and some portions were visibly breaking. I decided to make things right by finding better manufacturing equipment for him, so I started working on it right away. I was able to find an amazing deal on some new pieces to add to the workshop, and it really paid off. After about six months of using the new equipment, things were much better. This blog is all about the importance of using better equipment.
